Students Say 'T-Leaders Playing With Us'

“We believe in Telangana statehood. We feel its need. We joined our leaders in every movement sacrificing our studies and lives. But many of the leaders are just using this movement for their self growth as leaders but not for statehood. My father also says that the sincerity is lacking in leaders today unlike in 1969. But still I don’t step back. I see separate Telangana before I die”, said Yadagiri Goud, a PG scholar in Osmania University.

When probed into the reason for their dissatisfaction on leaders, Ashok Kumar, another student said, “Telangana leaders are simply playing with us. They instigate us and make us wilder during movements. And the fun is we used to support only TRS initially. But eventually Congress leaders have also joined the movement from their end. TDP also joined with their Telangana Forum. They brought split among us ‘Congress supporting Osmaniates’, ‘Telangana forum of TDP supporting Osmaniates’ and ‘TRS supporting Osmaniates’. Well, we have started our sacrifice by supporting the cause of Telangana, but where we are going by supporting parties? Every leader is worried if he is championing Telangana cause but not looking at how to materialize it”

Well, that seems to be a logical way of understanding where the students are going.

Another student, Ramesh Yadav said, “We are not losing hope on Telangana. We get it when the Center looks at this place with heart and brain but not with power greed”

On the other hand, “If there was any issue that should have united the TRS, TDP and Telangana Congress leaders, it is the rejection of the resignation of 101 Telangana MLAs by Speaker Nadendla Manohar last week. However, sadly, instead of doing so, the leaders of these parties are busy chalking out strategies to outwit or corner the others claiming to fight for the separate state. At this rate, the chances of Telangana happening under the present leadership appear to be highly unlikely,” said K Ramana Murthy, a native of Karinmagar working in a private firm in the city.

The thing to be underlined is TRS that started the movement is now looking as the weak one in T-region as Congress and TDP also started proving their political one-manship in T-region.

The rejection of TRS MLAs by Nadendla Manohar implies that the Congress wants to convey that there is no threat for either Manmohan’s government in Center or CM Kiran Kumar’s government in the state. That gives a weaker projection for TRS on a whole among the T-crowds and students those wish to travel with the winners.

To sign off, Congress is going ahead by making TRS a weaker party by 2014 elections. On the other hand the continuous T-bandhs make people disgust and may keep TRS away in 2014 which proves to be a suicidal for entire KCR clan.
