'YSR, A Man of People' written by KVP & will be released today at New Delhi

The hot topic of the day is the release of a mega pictorial book featuring former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the first such an attempt on any Congress leader in Andhra Pradesh.

At least half a dozen books were written on YSR in the past, but the significance of this book – “YSR, a man of people” comprising rate pictures of YSR spanning three decades of his political career, is that it was sponsored by YSR’s close friend and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao.

The pictorial book, brought out by noted photographers D Ravinder Reddy and Raghu Rai, will be released in New Delhi on Tuesday evening.

It is going to be entirely KVP show. He has invited who-is-who of the Congress party at the national level, who were all very close to YSR when he was alive – Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, Motilal Vohra, Vayalar Ravi etc, In fact, the book should have been released by Sonia Gandhi, but for her illness.

Besides, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana are specially flying to Delhi to attend the book release function.

Surprisingly, KVP has ignored the YSR family. Not even a single family member of YSR, including his widow Y Vijayalakshmi and MP-son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, has been invited to the function.

This is despite the fact that many of the photographs in the book were taken with the support of Jagan and Vijayamma. Some of the family pictures of YSR were contributed by Vijayamma.

Yet, Jagan’s family was totally kept aside. The fact that KVP chose to release the book in New Delhi itself shows that he did not want any nuisance from Jagan group. Apparently, KVP wants to show that YSR was the Congress man and not a family man!

We are yet to know where we can buy this book, stores details, whether it is available online to read, any web / internet links, PDF documents available of this.
