CWG2014:Jayalalitha announced Rs.50 lakh gift to Satish Sivalingam Gold Medal Winner

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha announced Rs.50 lacs prize money to the Commonwealth Games 2014 Gold Medal Winner Satish Kumar Sivalingam from Tamilnadu State.

Satish, 22, lifted a total of 328kg (149+179) to pip the 2010 CWG gold medallist Ravi Katulu, who had to be content with a silver medal. "You have made both the nation and Tamil Nadu proud by winning a gold medal and setting a new Commonwealth Games record.

CM Jayalalitha wrote a letter to Satish: Kindly accept my heartiest congratulations on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu on this splendid achievement," Jayalalithaa said in her letter to Satish Kumar on Monday.
