Mid-tier IT companies , which were cautious about their hiring over the past two years, have now begun to accelerate their campus hiring. In the immediate aftermath of the global recession in 2008-09 , IT orders went largely to the top-tier IT companies , and mid-tier ones focused on lateral hires (experienced employees) to meet requirements as and when those arose. But now, with midtier companies too benefiting from the rise in global IT spends, their hiring pattern is also changing. Take MindTree. The company expects to make 2,400 campus offers this year, the highest in the company's history. Anjan Lahiri, CEO of IT services in MindTree , said that during difficult times like the global economic recession, higher competition forces companies to look at more experienced hires on a just-in-time basis.
