China opens World's Longest Sea Bridge named "Jiaozhou Bay Bridge" - 26 miles between Qingdao & Huangdao Island

China has opened the world's longest cross-sea bridge. The Jiaozhou Bay bridge is 26 miles (42 kilometers) long and links China's eastern port city of Qingdao to an offshore island, Huangdao. State-run CCTV says the 110-foot (35-meter)-wide bridge is the longest of its kind and cost more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion). CCTV says the bridge passed construction appraisals on Monday and the bridge and an undersea tunnel opened to traffic on Thursday. It has taken four years to build the bridge, which is supported by more than 5,000 pillars. According to Guinness World Records, the previous record holder for a bridge over water is the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana. The Chinese bridge is more than 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) longer.

World's Lngest Natural Gas Pipeline in China starts operation - Total Length 8700 Kilo Meters

China's second east-west natural gas pipeline, which is the world's longest, began its operation on Thursday. The pipeline, connecting central Asia and China , will send natural gas from Turkmenistan to east China's Pearl river delta after passing through 15 of the country's provinces, reported Xinhua. The pipeline has a total length of 8,700 km. It was built with 142.2 billion yuan ($21.98 billion) in investments.

The vessel is completely fuelled by renewable energy, with its solar cells having a 22% efficiency rate. These are the highest rated cells available for purchase on the market, and the cells cover over 500 square meters of the ship. The solar cells are able to power two electric motors which are found in the hull, giving the ship at a top speed of 14 knots.
