7 Basic Blogging Tips for Beginners

Blogging is a great way to share your thoughts and opinion to others. You can share about anything you want using the blogging medium. But if you want to get authority and more readers for your blog, then you must choose your niche wisely and work hard in that niche.


Most people’s today, starts a blog and dreams about making their blog a profitable business by getting more readers to read their content. But only few have achieved this successful blogging. The main difference between the successful bloggers and others, is that they have done all the basic’s right. So, if you are thinking about starting a blog, then you must follow the basic’s of blogging to make your blog successful.

The following are few basic blogging tips for beginners who are aspiring to become successful in blogging.

1. Blogging Platform:

Choosing your blogging platform is the first and very basic step of blogging. There are many blogging platforms available out there for people to choose. But the most popular ones are blogger and WordPress. There is a never-ending debate going about which one to use from these two, but my money is with WordPress since it offers a lot more features than blogger. I started this blog with WordPress and I have achieved some remarkable milestones within a short time, mostly because of this blogging platform. So choosing your blogging platform wisely is the most important step in blogging.

2. Find a Niche:

In blogging, it is always important to choose a niche and blog in that niche, since it will attract more readers to your blog. While choosing a niche, choose a one that you have and can share with others. Do not choose a niche that you know nothing about because you will not be able to create useful posts and the blog will seem boring to your readers. Also, there are many advantages of niche blogging and one of them is when a write on a specific topic for quite some time, you will become an expert in it. 

3. Keywords:
Keywords plays a major role in making your blog popular and get more exposure in the blogosphere, since having keywords all around your blog, blog url, blog title, post title and first paragraph, maximizes your search engine traffic and quality of your blog. It is also good to have your keywords in blog description, since it is where search engines look for when a user submits a search query.

4. Good Layout:

Choosing a good layout for your blog is very important, because it is what readers see. A blog with a bad design won’t please your readers to stay with it, even if it has real good contents. A good layout will make your readers to look at your content all the time and it will also please them to come back again. It is also good to have images in your post, since it will make your blog posts less boring when you have written a very long post.

5. Content:

“Content is King” is the mantra to be successful in blogging. Updating your blog with unique contents which are descriptive and creative will make your readers stick with your blog all the time. Also don’t post very long contents, because most online users have a short reading span. So updating your blog with short, creative and unique contents, will keep your readers busy reading your post.

6. Update: No one wants to read the same content again and again. So it is always good to update your blog in a regular base with good contents. You can update twice a day or once a day or even twice a week, but what ever you do, do it consistently. When people find your blog with new contents which are really helpful, they will come again and again.

7. Patience:

The most important aspect to become successful in blogging is patience. It will always take long time to gain more subscribers and readers for your blog, so don’t get frustrated or give up just after a month of blogging. So be patient, and work hard with your blog and one day it will show if you keep doing it in the right way.
