Bezawada Rowdilu To Be Stopped says Advocates in Vijayawada Today

Controversies are not new to ace film maker Ram Gopal Verma. And now his latest film Bezawada Rowdilu is facing the initial hiccups.

Even as the shooting of “Bezavada Rowdilu” is in full swing in Vijayawada, a group of local advocates under the banner of Sarvodaya Mandali met Vijayawada City police commissioner Amit Garg on Tuesday and appealed to him to see that the film is stopped forthwith, as it would rake up violence once again in the town.

They argued that there was no point in making a film on the incidents that too place more than two decades ago and project the people of Vijayawada in bad light.

They also faxed a letter to chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking cancellation of the shooting claiming that it would spoil the reputation of Vijayawada.

Interestingly, they also appealed to the film’s star cast -- young hero Naga Chaitanya, heroine Genelia, Kota Srinivasa Rao and others – not to act in the film which was being made in bad taste.

Ironically, the Vijayawada police have provided full protection to Ram Gopal Verma and his film unit during the shooting taking place in Gandhinagar and One Town area. The theme of the film revolves around group rivalry between two powerful groups.
