Vanta Varpu, Rasta Roko, Bandh killing Hyderabadi's Chillax lifestyle?
I once used to say that I am from the land of the Nizams and Nawabs. There was an air of flamboyance and royalty when I said that I belonged to Hyderabad. In no time, my city became the hottest destinations for many people from different parts of the country and that made me twirl my moustache in pride. While those were the good old day, cut to now, things have gone completely haywire. Forget those who come from outside, me being a pure Hyderabadi, I have begun to feel suffocated.
I have a good job in one of the blue chip IT companies, have a nice home, perfect group of friends and the ‘Chillax’ Hyderabadi lifestyle but the last one year or so has made this heaven into hell. Thanks to the Telangana bomb triggered by Mr KCR, life has not been the same for me and many like me. Our industry has taken a big hit and what’s with these bandhs? In less than an year, I have seen the 11th bandh at an average of one per month. Where is the city heading?
It is disgusting to see even ministers being part of such activities. As it is, they care two hoots to the life of the common man so I am not surprised they are busy making life more difficult for the people. If they are expecting votes in the coming elections, they can expect a kick on their butt for what they are doing. Many people are suffering due to these unrealistic reasons of bandh and my temper boils when responsible ministers announce support. What are they? Some bunch of uneducated, illiterate and selfish fanatics who don’t know what growth and economy is? I am sure they are.
Only god knows what is happening in the city. There is nil development happening and there is no enthusiasm in people. Life has become lifeless in Hyderabad due to these bloody bandhs and lives of people like me has become sheer harassment as we don’t know when there will be ‘Vanta Varpu’ ‘Rasta Roko’ ‘Bandh’ etc etc. More than disgust, it is fear which is gripping me as I don’t what will happen when. And for sure, I can’t bear to see my Hyderabad getting gang-raped like this due to a bunch of greedy crooks calling themselves representatives of people.
Since I have lost faith in the system and definitely on the politicians, my only hope is towards god and if you are reading this God then please do something to my beloved land and Hyderabadis. Please give them peace and a life that they can lead normally.
