Anna Hazare's Life Vs Chiranjeevi's 'Rudraveena' Telugu Movie
The only name that has been reverberating across all the four corners of this nation is Kishan Baburao Hazare a.k.a Anna Hazare.
In the first look, one would find it hard to believe what this frail, puny looking man can achieve but his recent movement against corruption and the response he got for that stands as an example.
And if you think this is the only credit of Anna then you are mistaken. He has been a messiah for bringing about such revolutions since many years and a live result of that can be seen in his village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra.
It was in the year 1985 when a news article about Anna caught the eye of director K Balachander. One thought led to another and Anna’s tirade against many things in society motivated KB. Taking that as inspiration, Balachander directed it and made the film ‘Rudraveena’ starring Chiranjeevi, Gemini Ganesan, Shobana etc. The film was eventually remade in Tamil as ‘Unnal Mudiyum Thambi’ starring Kamal Haasan.
The essence of ‘Rudraveena’ lies around a man who is determined to prove that humanity and social reform lies above caste and the challenges he comes across. This is just one of those single chapters of transformations that Anna Hazare has done in his life so far. If Harijans are eating and sharing water with upper caste people in Ralegaon, it is purely Anna’s initiative and this has spread around the neigbouring villages of Maharashtra.
Perhaps a leaf was taken from Anna’s book when Chiranjeevi started his political party by saying ‘Saamajika Nyayam’. Of course, he didn’t have the perseverance or the grit that Anna has. So we folks can make ourselves happy by watching the megastar doing something sensible through his ‘Rudraveena’. While he still has his chances now that he joined the congress party, an insight into Anna’s life gives a huge boost not only to Chiru but also to many like us to do something for the society.
The only changes from Anna’s life and Rudraveena are:
Anna is an ex-serviceman while Chiranjeevi in Rudraveena is a Brahmin singer
Anna is unmarried while Chiranjeevi marries in Rudraveena
Anna started reforming his village after retirement while Chiranjeevi starts in young age
The similarities are:
Anna battered the drunkards in his village like Chiranjeevi did in Rudraveena
Anna erased the distances between Harijans and upper class like Chiru did in Rudraveena
Anna made his village an ideal one like Chiru did in Rudraveena
