Prof Senthil Kumaran becomes member of NASI
Hyderabad Central University Department of Animal Sciences Professor Senthil Kumaran became a member of National Academy of Sciences (NASI). For the year 2013, total 50 members selected from all over from HCU Senthil Kumaran selected.
University of Hyderabad (UoH), Department of Animal Sciences Professor B Senthilkumaran had been elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) for the year 2013. Only 50 fellows had been elected for the year 2013 from the whole country. Senthilkumaran done his Ph D from Banaras Hindu University, Varansi. His areas of research include Fish Molecular Endocrinology, Molecular Reproductive Biology, and Neuroendocrinology.
Senthilkumaran received awards like Young Scientist Award, ESCE, the Netherlands (1994), STA fellow, NRIA, Mie, Japan (1996-1998), JSPS & JST fellow, NIBB, Okazaki, Japan, (1998-2003), Visiting Scientist, CUHK, Hong Kong (December, 2006-January, 2007), Visiting Professor, NIPS, Okazaki, Japan (2008, 2011), JSPS Invitation Fellow, 2011-12, University of Miyazaki, Miyazaki, Japan, Guest Editor-2005, from 2011 onwards to name a few.
Founded in the year 1930, the National Academy of Sciences, India is the oldest Science Academy of the country. The main objective of the Academy is to provide a national forum for the publication of research work carried out by Indian scientists and to provide opportunities for exchange of views among them.
